Nov. 18, 2010: From a variety of woods (curly maple, padauk, pau ferro), these ten bottle stoppers are all for a very clever client who got her holiday shopping done early! But I can always make more, just holler…

Wine Stoppers
One for red wine, one for white. The red is made of padauk, the white is curly maple. The stopper is made of black titanium. These two are spoken for, but I’d love to make you one.
Black and White Ebony Cheese Planes
These are both spoken for – we’re keeping one ourselves – but I will be making a couple more.

Here are four recent wood turnings; two pizza cutters (both made of Pau Ferro) and two cheese slicers (one Pau Ferro, the other in Black and White Ebony).
Unless I find a Canadian source for the hardware kits, these will probably be the only ones of these I build, so enjoy! And do speak up if you’d like one for your very own.

Type of wood (from left): Zebrawood (2); Black & White Ebony (2); Pau Ferro (3). One of the Zebrawoods is missing its rings here, but it’s got ’em now…
Pau Ferro Wine Stopper
Finally got around to trying out these new stopper kits. The Lee Valley stoppers came with nothing, so I was kind of flying blind. These new ones came with a proper mandrel and drill bit, so no centering issues. The wood is pau ferro, which I love, but I’ve not too much left now. Should be enough for a few more stoppers though.
