I’m either in a rut, or on a roll, but either way I’m making nothing much but pens lately… here are some recent samples…

A pen I turned, moments ago, from Afzelia burl wood. The plating is “bright copper” and the pen style is called “Sedona”, which is similar to the “Baron” rollerball, but has a Celtic knot-style centre band. I think this is my favourite style pen now. It has 17 parts. I’ve been known to struggle with assembly, but this one went perfectly.

These are a new (to me) design, called “Longwood Click Pens”. Aptly named, because they’re a decent size, and the single-barrel construction really shows off the wood. And they’re the only “click”-style pen I’ve encountered, so that’s refreshing too.
Woods are (l-r) Zebrawood (2), Pink Ivory, Walnut, Paduak, Cherry, Lacewood.
Finally finished the Pen and Letter Opener gift sets. I even sprang for the — let’s call it “leather” — gift case, because they’re just that classy. Like me. The wood here was labeled as “Silky Oak” but looks exactly like what I’ve been getting as “Lacewood”… Wikipedia suggests they’re the same wood, from Australia.

Two pens in the so-called “Streamline” style. The upper one is made of York Gum Burl, the lower is California Redwood Burl. The plating is 24k gold.
Two recent custom designs using the Slimline-style hardware in a Satin Nickel finish. On the left, Paduak with a Maple centre band and a Maple Celtic knot in the upper section. On the right, Kingwood with a Cherry centre band.

Four Rollerball Pens
Four recent rollerball designs. The rollerball technology gives fountain pen performance and class, with none of the fuss. The upper (cap) sections unscrew, and may be attached to the other end of the pen while writing.
From left to right: (1) Churchill-style, in red palm (contrasting upper and lower stock); (2) Sedona-style in York Gum Burl; (3) Sedona-style in Kingwood; and (4) Baron-style in Bethlehem Olive Wood.
The Baron’s have a neat Celtic knot-style centre band. The Baron and Sedona styles have a threaded receiver for the cap to screw back onto while using the pen. The Churchill employs a friction fit to hold the cap while in use, or it may be set aside. The Churchill is slightly larger than the others.
