Six breadboards, awaiting final finishing. They’ve had one coat of mineral oil, will get another today after some fine sanding, then we’re done!! Three are already spoken for…

Maple Breadboard with “Racing Stripes”
This is another mostly hard maple edge-grain cutting board, but without the handle and spline of the other design. Instead there are a couple of “racing stripes” made of purpleheart, and a shallow juice groove. Size is about 12×19. My brother-in-law is buying this one, so I thought I’d better get a picture while I still have it.
Batching the Breadboards
Batches? We don’t need no stinkin’ batches!
But seriously ladies and germs… batching is definitely the way to go, once you know what you’re doing it’s not much longer to build three instead of one.
Maple and Walnut Breadboard
The walnut trim is darker than the cherry, more dramatic contrast against the maple. Which I think is good, but I like the cherry too… Also now featuring dowel pins, as originally called for.
Cherry Box with Cocobolo Lid
I like to say “cocobolo”. And “salsa”, I like to say “salsa”… I think this turned out not too bad… (note to my own horn, you have been tooted)

The human is my lovely wife Lynda. She’s a very good sport. I told her in advance I was going take a picture with this title, and she slapped me (didn’t hurt). But she still posed. What a gal.
Kidney-shaped Cutting Board
Just waiting for the first coat of mineral oil to dry on this cutting board. The design is from one of our old cutting boards that I rescued from the trash so I could copy it.
Cedar Chair
Finished the first of two cedar chairs for the garden, though I’m reluctant to put it outside now… I will be reconsidering the options for finishing before I commit…maybe I should just keep it in the living room…

Framing Coming Along Nicely
The garage workshop extension is proceeding well, the walls are up!! They’re currently beefing up the support around the area that will be the opening in the existing wall of the garage. Meanwhile, they’ve left themselves a bit of a doorway at the front.
Cement Delivery
Through a magical tube that descends from above, comes enough cement to fill six Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) and six honking Sono tubes. Can framing and siding be far behind?
