When we moved into our current home in 2006, my wife suggested we give it a name.  We finally landed on Barkwhistle, for a couple of reasons. One, because there is, or was, a formal garden not too far from here named Larkwhistle. And two, because of our dogs (hence bark) and because the house came with a number of ornamental pheasants (hence whistle). So the house is named Barkwhistle, and since my wood shop is part of the house, it seemed like a good idea to just use that name for this site.

Spring 2009: From humble beginnings… well, still a pretty humble wood shop, but at least it has a few tools in it now… and it’s closed in, and a little bit heated…
